Traceroute (known as "tracert" on Windows) is a tool which helps diagnosing network related problems. It shows the route a packet travels through a network, usually the Internet, as well as the so-called "round-trip" time from the source host (your computer) to the destination host. These numbers can tell if there are any problems, and in case there are some, their approximate location.
